Demolition of the Woolworths building

The Housing Association A2Dominion wants to demolish the iconic Woolworths building at 96-100, The Broadway, West Ealing. Opened in 1926 the store was the centre of a busy shopping hub for many decades. The photograph attached was taken during the 1960s I think. The store closed on 30 December 2008

A2Dominion want to build a residential tower block on the site rising to 14 storeys.

The Woolworths building façade is a West Ealing Centre Neighbourhood Plan Heritage Asset – see www.wecnf.org

Many of us do not want the classic art deco façade destroyed. We have started an online petition. If you want to help save the ‘ Woolworths’ façade, please sign the petition:

Thank you.
